Tense

Tense คือ รูปของกริยา เช่น write เป็นรูปปัจจุบัน,wrote เป็นรูป อดีต, shall write เป็นรูปอนาคต เป็นต้น

1.Simple Present Tense (ประธาน + กริยาช่อง 1)

ใช้ในความหมายดังนี้

-1.บอกนิสัยเช่น

He drinks tea every morning.

I get up every day at five o'clock.

My watch keeps good time.

-2.บอกความจริงเช่น

The sun rises in the east.

Honey is sweet.

Fortune favours the brave.

-3.ใช่กับประโยคอุทานที่ขึ้นต้นด้วย here and there เช่น

Here comes the bus!

There she goes!

-4.บอกเหตุการณ์ในอนาคตซึ่งเป็นแผนหรือการตกลงที่ทำไว้แล้วเช่น

We go to Bombay next week.

They leave for London by the next mail.

We sail for America next Saturday.

ข้อควรระวัง เมื่อประธานเป็นเอกพจน์บุรุษที่ 3 กริยาใน tense นี้ต้องเติม  s หรือ es
บุรุษที่ 1 หมายถึงผู้พูด มีคำว่า  I and We
บุรุษที่ 2 หมายถึงคนที่เราพูดด้วย มีคำว่า You
บุรุษที่ 3 หมายถึงทุกอย่างที่เรากล่าวถึงเช่น  boy, girl, man, woman, he, she ,it เป็นต้น เป็นเอกพจน์ พหูพจน์เช่น  boys, girls,women, they เป็นต้น  หลักการเติม s or es ให้ดูที่ Ending

2.Present Continuous Tense (ประธาน + be+ v1 +ing)

ใช้ในความหมายดังนี้

-1.การกระทำที่กำลังเกิดขึ้น

She is singing.(now)

The boys are playing hockey.

-2.การกระทำยังดำเนินอยู่ แม้ขณะพูดอาจไม่ได้ทำสิ่งนั้น เช่น

I am reading 'David Copperfield' (but I am not reading at this moment.)

-3.การกระทำซึ่งวางแผนการณ์ และกำหนดไว้ จะเกิดขึ้นในอนาคตอันใกล้เช่น

I am going to the cinema tonight.

My uncle is arriving tomorrow.

3.Pressent Perfect Tense(ประธาน + v. to have + v.3)

.ใช้ในความหมายดังนี้คือ

-1.เหตุการณ์เพิ่งจบลง เช่น

He has just gone out.

It has just struck ten.

-2.บอกการกระทำที่จบแล้ว แต่ไม่บอกเวลาเช่น

Have you read'Gulliver's Travels'?

I have never known him to be angry.

Mr. Hari has been to Japan.

-3. บอกเหตุการณ์ที่จบไปแล้วแต่เราเน้นที่ผล ยังมีอยูเช่น

Gopi has eaten all the biscuits.(ie.,there aren't any left for you)

I have cut my finger .(and it is bleeding now)

I have finished my work(=now I am free)

-4.บอกเหตุการณ์ที่เริ่มในอดีต ดำเนินมาจนถึงปัจจุบันเช่น

I have known him for a long time.

He has been ill since last week.

We have lived here for ten years.

We haven't seen Padma for several months.


4.Present Perfect Continuous Tense(ประธาน + v. to have + been +v.1+ing)
ใช่กับเหตุการณ์ดังต่อไปนี้
-1.เหตุการณ์ที่เกิดแล้ว และยังดำเนินอยู่ในขณะนี้ เช่น
He has been sleeping for five hours (and is still sleeping)
They have been building the bridge for several months.
They have been playing since four o'clock

-2.ใช้กับเหตุการณ์ที่จบแล้ว แต่ยังมี่ผลอยู่ เช่น
Why are your clothes so wet', I have been watering the garden.
5.Simple Past Tense (ประธาน + v.2)
-1.ใช้กับเหตุการณ์ที่จบแล้ว มักมีคำบอกอดีตอยู่ด้วยเช่น
The steamer sailed yesterday.
I received his letter a week ago.
She left school last year.
2.บางครั้งไม่บอกเวลาที่เกิดเช่น

I learnt Hindi in Nagpur.

I didn't sleep well.(i.c,.last night)

Babar defeated Rana Sanga at Kanwaha.
-3.ใช้บอกนิสัยในอดีตเช่น
He studied many hours every day.
She always carried an umbrella.
